Mercer Island High School freshman and Eagle Scout Max Waller recently worked with the City and fellow Scouts to raise awareness about pollution entering Lake Washington through local storm drains.
The Scouts put up almost three dozen storm drain markers around the Island and did outreach to the community.
During the Aug. 11 farmers market, Waller and members of Troop 457 hosted a booth with the goal of educating Islanders about the impacts storm drain pollution has and describing ways to prevent contaminants flowing into the lake.
