Woman arrested at Mercer Island QFC for stealing beer | Police Blotter

The blotter consists of officers’ accounts of crimes and other incidents in Mercer Island. Persons arrested are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
Aug. 24
THEFT: A female suspect was arrested at 11:56 a.m. on suspicion of stealing two 25-ounce cans of Budweiser from the north QFC, and was booked into SCORE Jail. Other offenses included obstructing a law enforcement officer and lewd act in public.
FOUND PROPERTY: A set of keys were found in the street at 1:28 a.m. in the 4000 block of W. Mercer Way.
Aug. 25
FRAUD: An Island woman in the 4600 block of 81st Ave. SE said at 3:44 p.m. that she wired $2,400 to an internet fraudster in response to an apartment subleasing ad.
FOUND PROPERTY: An Island man found a watch on the ground in the City Hall parking lot. It was placed into found property at the Mercer Island Police Department at 3:01 p.m.
Aug. 26
INFORMATIONAL REPORT: An Island woman in the 9000 block of E. Shorewood Drive reported at 10:16 p.m. that her ex-husband took their son from her home without permission, per their parenting plan. The father reported that the son was scared, so he brought him to his home for safety. The son left with the dad for the evening.
Aug. 27
PROWLING: Maui Jim prescription sunglasses and Ray Ban sunglasses were reported stolen from a locked vehicle at 10:04 a.m. after a prowl in the 8400 block of W. Mercer Way.
Aug. 28
MISCHIEF: An unknown suspect broke two windows on a portion of a school under construction in the 8200 block of SE 72nd St. The incident was reported at 7 a.m. Security video contained no evidence.
Aug. 29
THEFT: An Island man reported at 11:56 a.m. that a canoe was missing from his dock, in the 3800 block of E. Mercer Way. The value of the green, 15 foot canoe is $350.
Aug. 30
FALL: At 12:15 p.m., a Port Orchard woman who was walking on a sidewalk in the 7600 block of SE 27th St. fell, possibly due to a stroke.
REPORT: A Seattle man biking in the 7400 block of N. Mercer Way at 8:06 p.m. ran off the trail, and was ejected into a planted shoulder. He was transported to the hospital for treatment. An Island woman witnessed the incident.
