The Mercer Island boys lacrosse team earned a big win on senior night on Tuesday, April 30. The Islanders beat Snohomish 12-3.

Mercer Island dominated the game, up 5-2 at the end of the first half, followed by a four point third quarter and three points in the fourth to take the game. The Islanders held Snohomish to just one point in the second half.

Peter Mahony led the team with two goals, one assist and one ground ball, while Grant Preisler scored two gaols and four ground balls. Steen Swedstedt had two goals, as did Justin Rorem, with one ground ball. Cooper Johnson posted one goal and three ground balls during the win, while teammate Kevin Condon added one goal and three ground balls. Hayden Reisman scored one goal with one assists and one ground ball, Lorenzo Powell had one goal, as did Charlie Vetter. Devlin Conway had 11 ground balls during the match. Goalie Benji Rothenberg made five saves during the game.

The team will take on rival Bellevue on Friday in the Washington State Lacrosse Game of the Week. The game will be played at Bellevue starting at 8 p.m. and will be broadcast online by The Lacrosse Network.
