Here’s a quick look at the winners for last weekend’s Round the Rock paddle surfing race. Racers in the 13-mile event started at Seward Park and traveled around the Island, going south first.
The second annual Swim Across American Lake Washington swim was held last Saturday. The event, which raised money for the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, boasted 169 swimmers who crossed the finish line at Luther Burank Park.
Mercer Island girls in fifth through eighth grades will now be able to play fall lacrosse, thanks to the new MI girls Fall Ball program. The league, which begins games Friday afternoons in October, is registering now.
The first ever Islander Aquathon, which debuted last night, was a success. Approximately 200 people took part in the race, which started with the swimming portion in Lake Washington, followed by a run through Luther Burbank Park.
