Mercer Island beats Mount Si | Girls prep tennis

The Mercer Island girls tennis team notched a KingCo win on Tuesday afternoon, beating Mount Si 6-1.
In the singles competition, Melanie Lee beat Rachel Walker 6-2, 6-3. Carissa Ham beat Kerry Pemberton 6-0, 6-2 and Catherine Seifert beat Alaina Kinham 6-0, 6-0. Sarah Sweet beat Hannah Still 6-0, 6-1.
In the doubles competition, sisters Lydia and Gabby Venditti beat Cheyanne Dixon and Kelsey Sharp 6-0, 6-0. Caroline Dillon and Caroline Hamilton beat Jessica Graves and Kayla Schumacher 6-0, 6-0. Olivia Howland and Peyton McGull of Mount Si beat Mindy Weinberg and Sarah Kahan 6-2, 7-6 (7-5) in the final match of the day.
Mercer Island will take on non-conference opponent Newport on Thursday, April 25 in a 3:45 p.m. meet at Newport High School.
