Mercer Island Preschool Association (MIPA) will host its 53rd annual Circus at a new location this year: Islander Middle School.

The event will feature a “spectacular lineup,” according to MIPA Board co-president Traci Granbois, and will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 27.

Activities include a trampoline, a bounce slide and bounce houses, an obstacle course, break-a-plate, bowling, mini golf, crafts, face painting, a photo booth and a dunk tank.

Among the entertainment offerings will be The Reptile Man, magician Nate Jester, Mercer Island’s cheer and drill teams, School of Acrobatics and New Circus Arts (SANCA), Mercer Island Martial Arts and a pony carousel. There will also be food trucks and cotton candy.

“MIPA is so excited to host our 53rd Circus at a new venue, Islander Middle School,” Granbois said. “We have new games and entertainment, like an obstacle course and Reptile Man (moms won’t want to miss this show) and, of course, crowd favorites like Sea of Surprises and pony rides, and the ever popular dunk tank.”

Other MIPA board members and volunteers echoed the sentiment.

“This event is a homespun circus on a grand scale that year after year draws young families region-wide for a day of fun and community gathering,” Ly-Lan McCarthy said.

“Have your cameras ready, as there will be photo ops aplenty for little and big ones alike when you enter the reimagined Big Top entrance at our new Circus venue,” said Gretchen Anderson.
