Police arrest driver for warrant and DUI | Mercer Island police blotter

April 14
Warrant arrest: Issaquah Police Department officers arrested a subject on a Mercer Island Police Department warrant for failure to appear in court and booked the subject into Issaquah Jail.
Traffic offense: In the 7800 block of Southeast 28th Street, police officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with no license plates. The driver initially wouldn’t provide information and officers found this to be a case of third-degree driving while license suspended.
April 16
Rifle destruction: A resident in the 7500 block of Southeast 71st Street turned in a rifle to police for destruction.
April 17
Warrant arrest: Police officers located a subject after hours in a park in the 2200 block of West Mercer Way and found the subject to have a Seattle felony warrant for second-degree burglary. Seattle officers came to Mercer Island to transport the subject, who was medically declined at a jail and released.
Theft: Someone stole a $40 bag that was left on a bench in the 2000 block of 72nd Avenue Southeast. There was no suspect information.
Warrant arrest: In the 7800 block of Southeast 28th Street, police officers conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver for a Whatcom County warrant and for driving under the influence.
April 19
Injury: A subject fell on private property and sustained a head injury in the 7600 block of Southeast 27th Street. The subject was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle and their dog was taken to the Regional Animal Services of King County in Kent.
