Cyclists pedal across Mercer Island for Bike to Work Day

Sunny weather returned and many commuters switched from four wheels to two for “Bike to Work Day” on May 19.

Companies and sponsors set up support booths along popular biking routes during the morning and afternoon commutes. Cyclists who stopped along the I-90 trail on Mercer Island from 6-9 a.m. received energy drink samples, chiropractic advice and information from King County employees about how the upcoming North Mercer/Enatai sewer project will impact the trail.

May is Bike Month, and employees at local company Paracle (pictured below) are attempting to ride 5,000 miles and raise $5,000 for Mercer Island Youth and Family Services.
