Hadley crane to be dismantled this weekend

Parking and traffic will be affected as the crane at the corner of 76th Avenue SE and SE 27th Street is taken down.

The tower crane that has been used during the construction of Legacy Partners’ Hadley project on Mercer Island will be dismantled on Friday, Feb. 12, affecting traffic and parking on SE 27th Street and surrounding streets.

Both traffic lanes and the north parking lane will be closed from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., and there will be no parking on the south side of the street from Friday to Sunday, Feb. 14, as it will be used as a traffic lane. Flaggers will control traffic from each end.

On Friday and Saturday, a number of trucks and trailers will be used to load out the crane in sections. They will stage on 76th Avenue SE in front of the project, and enter and exit the city on North Mercer Way.

After 3 p.m. each day, parking on the south side will be closed but two lanes will be open in both directions for traffic.

Construction on the 209-unit luxury apartment building began in October 2014.
