The Mercer Island U15 boys select team, known as MI United, recently won the Washington State fall league.

The Mercer Island U15 boys select team, known as MI United, recently won the Washington State fall league.

The team took the title by seven points after an undefeated season with 13 wins and one draw. The league includes select teams from across the region, including Issaquah Red, RV Slammers, Legacy and Mount Rainier and teams from Wenatchee and Spokane.

It’s the first time an Island select club team has won their league and follows after the MI United reached the semifinals of the 2010 Challenge Cup. This year’s team allowed just nine goals and scored 43 points.

The team includes: Jeremy Moss, Brett Bottomley, Natahn Gallatin, Stuart Toda, Steven Woolston, Eric Westergard, Scott Montague, Peter Battisti, Kisho Armitage, Nathan Rosenstein, Derek Sims, Michael Krebs, Cameron Coe, Evan Condon, Jack Counihan and Michael Drucker.

The team is coached by Tom Montague and Richard Counihan and trainer Zeke Halilovic.
