Two Island residents and brothers made the semifinals of the Northwest Pinball Show at the Seattle Center in early June. The biggest show in the Northwest included Garrett and Eric Dubofsky, who both entered the novice tournament. This level of play largely features adults, with only a handful of children participating.

Garrett Dubofsky, 11, made the finals in the tournament and played on three different games. He won all three games, earning a trophy, $100 cash and a T-shirt. It’s the second time that Garrett Dubofsky has won the novice tournament — the first when he was 9 years old in 2008. Garrett Dubofsky is a fifth-grader at Lakeridge Elementary, and Eric Dubofsky, 13, is a seventh-grader at Islander Middle School.
