SCAM ALERT

The Mercer Island Police Department (MIPD) is alerting residents not to be fooled by scam callers who are once again contacting locals and pretending to be MIPD officers. According to MIPD, “The latest scammers will warn you of ‘unpaid warrants for your arrest’ or ‘overdue income tax warrants’ and walk you through sending them money via payment apps. We will never call you to demand payment for any reason.”
