The Islanders made the state tournament for the first time since 2008. The team finished second in the regular season, as well as the league tournament, and was fourth at the district tournament. The team finished with a 15-9 overall record.
The Islanders won their third straight 3A state title, also winning the KingCo and SeaKing titles along the way.
After dominating in the pool for years, the Islanders did not win the state tournament last year and finished without a trophy.
The Islanders finished the regular season in sixth place with a 3-12-2 overall record and did not advance in the postseason.
The Islanders earned their first state win since 1988, beating Ferndale last November. The team finished 8-3 overall and was 6-1 in KingCo.
The young Islanders went 2-5 in regular season matches, finishing in fifth place at the KingCo tournament. Islander James Gendreau qualified for the state tournament, the only member of the team to qualify.
The Islanders won their second straight 3A state title. The team won the championship by one of the largest point margins, after winning the title in 2010 by just one point.
“Last year was such an accomplishment,” said Dieveney.
After solid regular season performances, the girls team won the KingCo meet, took second at SeaKing districts and was seventh overall as a team at the state meet. The boys team finished third at the KingCo meet and took 11th as a team at districts.
Riding the school bus safely does require children to be aware and follow specific safety procedures.
