Suspect caught on camera fleeing scene after break-in | Mercer Island police blotter

Oct. 15

Theft: A resident in the 4100 block of West Mercer Way reported a missing catalytic converter.

Malicious mischief: Camera footage spotted a suspect fleeing the scene after shattering a glass door and triggering the home alarm system in the 2200 block of 82nd Avenue Southeast.

Oct. 14

Burglary: There were multiple instances of storage area break-ins in the 3200 block of Shorewood Drive.

Oct. 11

Vehicle prowl: Someone smashed a car window and stole items in the 7000 block of Southeast 24th Street.

Oct. 10

Missing cyclist found: A cyclist went missing from her group on Mercer Island and was later located through coordination with neighboring cities.

Oct. 8

Prowler: A resident in the 7600 block of Southeast 72nd Street captured footage of a male suspect on his property behaving strangely.

Burglary: A suspect entered a home through a window in the 2400 block of 62nd Avenue Southeast and stole expensive items.

Oct. 6

Harassment: A suspect was captured on multiple Ring cameras placing various print propaganda on residents’ windshields in the 7600 block of 79th Avenue Southeast.

Oct. 4

Threats: A subject in the 9600 block of Southeast 36th Street made threats when told he didn’t qualify for a rental application.

Mental-emotional incident: Multiple callers reported a subject seen hitting and kicking the fire station door in the 7800 block of Southeast 28th Street. The subject was driven to the hospital.
