King County Executive Dow Constantine is on the right track — no more cement. Freeman suggests that the new driverless cars will reduce traffic — not so, there will still be horrendous traffic delays. The solution is to get with the rest of world, such as China, Japan and Europe, with trains, trains and more trains to move our fast-growing population. We need light rail and high speed bullet trains (Seattle to Spokane, Portland and Vancouver B.C.), not more cement.

Granted, it may take a generation to get used to trains. We are 20 years behind the times and we must act now. The HOV on Interstate 405 is a disaster, a Band-Aid on a serious wound.
