Nov. 5

Warrant arrest: Following a traffic stop in the 7800 block of Southeast 28th Street, an officer discovered that the driver had an active theft warrant out of Tukwila. The subject was booked into the South Correctional Entity (SCORE) jail in Des Moines.

Nov. 6

Fraud: A resident in the 4800 block of 88th Place Southeast reported that someone opened fraudulent bank accounts under the Islander’s name.

Vehicle prowl: In the 9000 block of West Shorewood Drive, a resident reported that their wallet with identification, work permit and two debit cards were missing from their unlocked vehicle.

Nov. 7

Accident: A driver involved in a traffic accident in the 9100 block of North Mercer Way was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The car was towed and items within the vehicle were taken for safekeeping.

Theft: Someone stole various items from a business in the 3000 block of 78th Avenue Southeast. The items were unknown at press time.

Nov. 10

Warrant arrest: A subject of a Mercer Island warrant was re-booked into the South Correctional Entity (SCORE) jail in Des Moines for third-degree driving while license suspended. The misdemeanor charge can result in fines and a criminal record, according to the Washington State Attorneys website, which adds, “This charge is often due to unpaid tickets or a lapse in insurance coverage.”

Nov. 11

Theft: Someone stole a package from the front secured door of an apartment building in the 2900 block of 79th Avenue Southeast. The package contained $126.67 worth of cleaning and hygiene products.
