The “It Takes an Island” MI Healthy Youth Community Forum will occur from 7-9 p.m. Feb. 2 virtual via Zoom.

Forum participants will explore how parent and youth behavior and health choices set youth up for success as young adults; learn about recent research findings on youth substance use and the impact on mental health; and students will have the opportunity to share their perspective on being a teen in today’s world.

“Connect, learn, and come together to support Island youth well-being,” reads a press release, adding that students (grades 6-12), parents (of children of all ages), educators and community members are invited.

Dr. Jason Kilmer, a University of Washington professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences, will be the keynote speaker.
