Published 9:00 am Monday, April 13, 2026

On April 7, each Lakeridge Elementary School third-grade class performed an abbreviated performance of Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” in the school library. Heather Hawkins traveled from Los Angeles to work with Lakeridge students over five engaging sessions. She has been partnering with Lakeridge for more than 15 years. She is a professional actor who has performed with Luther Burbank’s Shakespeare in the Park and has also worked with Youth Theatre Northwest. She is passionate about helping children appreciate and perform Shakespeare. The Lakeridge community, PTA and Mercer Island Schools Foundation supports this enrichment opportunity for the students.
