Mercer Island 9-10 All-Stars earn second in District 9 tournament

The Mercer Island 9-10 All Star Little League team finished in second place at the District 9 tournament in Redmond at the beginning of July. The team won their first four games, to earn a spot in the championship match where they faced Bellevue East in a two game series.

The Islanders fell 7-6 after battling back in the sixth inning, where they recovered from a 5-0 deficit early in the game. In the bottom of the sixth Bellevue East earned a lead off walk, single then a double to steal the win back.
